The 10 events that will set the entrepreneurial agenda in the first half of 2025

The first half of the year is full of key meetings, such as the Fintech Mexico Festival, 4YFN in Barcelona, South Summit in Madrid and the Energy Tech Summit in Bilbao, among others. At these events, startups, investors and other players will gather to boost innovation.

In an increasingly interconnected entrepreneurial ecosystem, major entrepreneurship and investment events have become key spaces for drivers of high-growth companies, investors and corporations to discover opportunities, establish strategic alliances and explore the trends that shape a constantly evolving market.

During the first half of the year, Spain, Latin America and Europe will be the scene of important meetings. From Bilbao to Miami, passing through Barcelona, Amsterdam and Medellín, we have compiled the essential events that will mark the agenda of the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Fintech Mexico Festival (Mexico City, Mexico)

  • When? February 27.
  • Where? Papalote Museo del Niño, Mexico City.

Fintech Mexico Festival will bring together financial sector leaders, regulators and entrepreneurs to discuss trends that are transforming financial services, from digital banking to cryptocurrencies and financial inclusion.

The festival will feature more than 70 speakers, four stages and more than 25 conferences, which will address the latest trends in digital payments, open banking, cryptocurrencies or artificial intelligence applied to financial services and much more. More than 2,000 attendees are expected, including experts, investors and entrepreneurs.

4YFN (Barcelona)

  • When? March 3-6.
  • Where? Fira Gran Via, Barcelona.

4YFN (Four Years From Now) is the flagship event for high-growth startups at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona. Under the slogan “powering startups”, this year’s edition has a special focus on artificial intelligence (AI) and seeks to bring together VC funds with drivers of fast-growing companies.

With more than €50,000 million in funds raised and the presence of startups from more than 105 countries in its previous edition, the event will also feature a conference agenda with speakers such as Jürgen Schmidhuber, considered the “father of modern AI”; Aravind Srinivas, CEO of Perplexity AI or Pilar Manchón, head of AI strategy at Google, among others. BBVA Spark is a sponsor and will have a booth at the event.

VC Latam Summit (Miami, United States)

  • When? March 26 and 27.
  • Where? Miami Beach Convention Center.

The VC Latam Summit 2025 celebrates its fifth edition consolidating itself as a meeting point for the venture capital ecosystem in Latin America and Miami. This event brings together investment funds, startups, corporations and venture capital associations, with the aim of strengthening investment in the region and connecting business opportunities globally.

Organized by venture capital and private equity associations from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru, among other countries, the event seeks to promote Latin America as an attractive destination for investment in startups and scaleups, highlighting the potential for innovation and growth in strategic sectors.

StartCo (Medellín, Colombia)

  • When? April 3 and 4.
  • Where? Plaza Mayor, Yellow Pavilion.

Defined as the region’s first live startup auction, StartCo brings together funds and entrepreneurs in a dynamic event where startups seeking capital to scale their businesses present their projects to investors. With a focus on companies with minimum revenues of $25,000 (about €24,000 at the current exchange rate) per year, the event aims to help founders raise investment and establish relationships with other players in the ecosystem.

The event, of which BBVA Spark is a sponsor, will also include VC Week, a series of speed meetings designed to connect startups with compatible venture capital funds, thus streamlining the investment process.

Energy Tech Summit (Bilbao, Spain)

  • When? April 9 and 10.
  • Where? Euskalduna Palace.

The Energy Tech Summit 2025 returns to Bilbao in April. Considered one of the main events in Europe on climate tech, it will bring together investors, entrepreneurs and government leaders around energy innovation.

With more than 1,500 attendees from 40 countries expected and more than 100 speakers, the event will focus on new business opportunities, investment in climate technology and disruptive energy solutions. In addition, it will feature two days of networking sessions and the presence of leading figures in the sector. Money20/20 Europe (Amsterdam)

  • When? June 3-5.
  • Where? RAI Amsterdam Convention Center.

Money20/20 Europe is a benchmark event in the financial and fintech sector that will bring together some of the most influential leaders in banking, payments, artificial intelligence and technology. Entrepreneurs, regulators and senior executives will discuss the future of money, new opportunities to drive new business models and how to generate global impact.

In the 2025 edition, the main conversations will revolve around digital identity as a currency, artificial intelligence in payments and the regulatory challenges arising from these transformations. Speakers include leaders from institutions such as the Bank of England and Visa.

South Summit (Madrid)

South Summit Madrid is one of the most important entrepreneurship and investment events in Spain and Latin America and connects startups with investors and large companies in sectors such as technology, mobility, energy and health.

After the 2024 edition, which brought together more than 17,000 attendees, 121 investment funds, 24 unicorns and 500 prominent speakers, the event returns to the Spanish capital for a 15th edition where attendees will be able to scale innovative projects, discover emerging trends and access a global network of experts.

London Tech Week (London, United Kingdom)

  • When? March 25 and 26.
  • Where? Queen Elizabeth II Centre.

Tech.eu Summit London 2025 will bring together the key players of the tech and startup ecosystem in Europe, offering a unique platform for the main players in the industry to connect. Over two days, attendees will be able to expand their network, collaborate with investors or discover promising startups with high growth potential.

The event will be attended by leading figures from the venture capital (VC) and technology world, including partners and executives from leading VC firms. In addition, there will be sponsorship opportunities for funds seeking to increase their visibility and attract new investments.

Viva Technology (Paris)

  • When? June 11-14.
  • Where? Paris Expo, Porte de Versailles.

One of the most important technology events in Europe, Viva Technology 2025 will explore the new frontiers of innovation in all its dimensions: technological, entrepreneurial, geographical and responsible. This event will bring together global leaders, startups, investors and visionaries to discuss the impact of innovation in today’s and tomorrow’s world.

The Next Web Conference (Amsterdam, The Netherlands)
